About the Role

The Primary Purpose of the Position is: The Supervisory Prosthetic Representative serves as a key operational and clinical administrative leader that provides oversight, direction, and advanced subject-matter expertise for a multidisciplinary program responsible for the delivery of prosthetic, orthotic, sensory aids, and rehabilitation technologies. This position is a Full-time position that will be on a Not-to-Exceed (NTE) basis of 12 months.

What You'll Do

  • The administrative aspects of the work require an understanding of statistics, budgeting, contracting, procurement, human resources, supervision, the National Prosthetic Patient Database (NPPD), inventory management and a knowledge of the Prosthetic national software package.
  • A Supervisory Prosthetic Representative must have analytical ability, social awareness, tact and diplomacy, and good communication skills.
  • He/ she must possess knowledge of established management principles, concepts and methodology to identify, analyze and resolve managerial and administrative issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature.
  • The Representative must be able to anticipate the need for action.
  • They must also possess the ability to deal effectively with individuals and groups and to adjust to difficult or stressful situations.
  • Managing the daily operations of the Prosthetic Service and supervising the administrative staff within that Service.
  • Listed below are some of the tasks for the Supervisory Prosthetic Representative, GS-12 in the capacity of a Supervisory Prosthetic Representative: Develops local organizational policies and procedures consistent with national policies and procedures.
  • Develops Statements of Work for service contracts.
  • Establishes long and short-term program goals.
  • Responds to a variety of correspondence i.e. contractors, Home Oxygen program issues, congressional, etc.
  • Serves as Chairperson in local facility committees, workgroups, and teams.
  • Participates in various clinics representing Prosthetics (Amputation Care Clinic, etc.).
  • Assesses and provides technical guidance concerning equipment and benefits to beneficiaries and other health care workers.
  • Adjusts work load and develops performance measures.
