About the Role

This position is located at the Detroit Arsenal, Michigan. Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee: First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees working at least 15 hours per week) Second and Subsequent Child: 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees working at least 15 hours per week) Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.

What You'll Do

  • Serves as a CYS Supervisory Program Specialist with responsibility for supervising CYS direct care staff (minimum of 8 ratios of children in a Child Development Center (Ages 0-5) or 6 ratios of children/youth in a School-Age Program or Youth.
  • Prepares work schedules to meet ratio and group size requirements. provides program oversight and accountability.
  • Monitors and analyzes adult/participant ratio sheets to ensure proper staffing to ensure children are supervised at all times.
  • Assists with recruitment and selection of caregiving staff utilizing Army CYS Standard Position Descriptions.
  • Supervises and evaluates employees based on established performance standards as required.
  • Ensures timely submission of personnel actions.
  • Assists directors and training specialist to plan, coordinate, and implement activities and special events that meet the physical, social, emotional and cognitive needs of children and youth.
  • Acts as Assistant Director or Director in their absence up to 20% of the time.
  • May work in additional CYS facilities for the purposes of providing management oversight for evening or weekend openings.
