About the Role

The employee will serve as the Supervisory Program Analyst (Graduated Interventions), in the National Care & Peer Support Department, Veterans Crisis Line (VCL), Veterans Affair (VA). The VCL is a 24-hour, 7-days-a-week, 365-days-a-year service aimed at connecting callers worldwide to a caring, qualified Veterans Administration employee. The VCL's mission is to provide 24/7, world-class suicide prevention and crisis intervention services to Veterans, Service Members and their family members.

What You'll Do

  • Major duties include but are not limited to: Plans and assigns work to staff, ensuring equitable and manageable workloads based on priorities and employee skill levels Oversees and manages current and future evaluation and research efforts related to the Veterans Crisis Line (VCL).
  • Advises and counsels employees on both work and administrative matters.
  • Evaluates problem areas and provides actionable recommendations to improve organizational and operational practices related to crisis care and suicide prevention.
  • Identifies employee developmental and training needs and facilitates improvement in production.
  • Provides project oversight for major VCL Veteran suicide prevention implementation initiatives.
  • Participates in clinical and research meetings related to suicide prevention and crisis intervention.
  • Makes decisions on work issues presented by subordinates.
  • Analyzes metrics, generates reports, and recommends communication strategies for suicide and crisis intervention based on organizational needs and goals.
  • Evaluates the efficiency and implementation of programs..
  • Receives, analyzes, and assigns project data (milestones, resources).
  • Work Schedule: Tour of Duty is typically Administrative Hours.
  • Tour is subject to change based on program needs.
  • Compressed/Flexible Work Schedule: May be authorized upon supervisor approval after training per Agency policy.
  • Remote: This is remote position.

  • Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP) As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period or 2-year trial period during which we will evaluate your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
