What You'll Do
- →Oversee workload and research priorities within the organization.
- →Provide independent leadership in research of national and international significance, participating in the overall planning, development, and implementation of policies and procedures related to the extramural program.
- →Administer clinical and basic research projects, including clinical trials, supported by the assigned organization.
- →Actively collaborate in the planning, development, implementation, and administration of research and training programs, projects, contracts, conferences, and workshops.
- →Establish goals and objectives for the assigned research area and organize efforts to initiate pioneering programs and resolve critical issues involving accomplishments of the research.
- →Evaluate the recommendations of peer review programs, scientific merit of proposed research, availability and adequacy of facilities, and justification for individual budget items.
- →Formulate concepts for Program Announcements, Requests for Applications, and Requests for Proposals while ensuring the funded research is scientifically valid and complies with the Institute/Center.
- →Maintain liaison with investigators, institutions, organizations, and other governments agencies.
- →Provide guidance and supervision to staff to include the evaluation of work by subordinates, identify training needs, adjust priorities, and hear/resolve complaints of employees.
- →Make recommendations or counsel employees regarding appointments/promotions and/or administrative matters.
- →Support and communicate EEO policies/plans and programs.
