About the Role
About the Position: This position is located in in Dover, Delaware. Management would prefer completion of a Forensic Pathology Fellowship and Board Certification in Pathology. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
What You'll Do
- →Supervises and leads a team of medical and technical staff by managing daily operations, evaluating performance, resolving conflicts, and overseeing hiring and training.
- →Directs the mission of the Forensic Pathology division by establishing priorities, providing technical guidance, and ensuring the quality and timeliness of all casework.
- →Performs and leads complex forensic autopsies and death investigations to determine the cause and manner of death, particularly in highly sensitive or difficult cases.
- →Provides authoritative expert consultation to military commanders, legal counsel, and criminal investigators on forensic pathology matters and investigation outcomes.
- →Delivers expert medical testimony in legal proceedings, defending and explaining complex autopsy findings to courts and legal authorities.
- →Ensures the division's compliance with professional accreditation standards by managing quality assurance programs and conducting rigorous peer reviews of casualty and autopsy reports.
- →This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
