About the Role
This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Clinical Standards and Quality, Quality Measurement and Value-Based Incentives Group. As a Supervisory Physician, GP-0602-15, you will serve as the Supervisory Chief Medical Officer implementing strategic planning, development, and implementation of comprehensive program management for QMVIG's quality measurement activities at a national scale.
What You'll Do
- →Provide professional and authoritative analysis of issues impacting the entire spectrum of health care quality and safety.
- →Review and evaluate proposed legislation and regulations that address medical issues impacting the health care community on a nationwide scale.
- →Provide expert advice and counsel to top level management officials on significant policy matters related to national health care quality and safety matters.
- →Ensure that policies are consistent with Agency values, principles and priorities.
Requirements
- ✓Education Requirement: In addition to meeting the qualification requirements, all candidates must have the following educational requirements: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent degree from a school in the United States or Canada.
- ✓This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association (external link); Association of American Medical Colleges; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S.
- ✓Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
- ✓(TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION) Degree from Foreign Medical School: A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school must provide education and medical knowledge equivalent to accredited schools in the United States.
- ✓Evidence of equivalency to accredited schools in the United States is demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country, or successful completion of the U.S.
- ✓Medical Licensing Examination.
- ✓TRANSCRIPTS are required to verify satisfactory completion of the educational requirement listed above.
