What You'll Do
- →This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Safety & Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), Gulf of America Region (GOAR), Office of the Regional Director, District Field Operations, New Orleans District, Well Ops Section, in Jefferson, LA.
- →At the full performance level (GS-14) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: 1.
- →Provides leadership for the Well Operations Section activities in technical functions with direct supervision over the following program activities: all drilling, completion, workover, and well abandonment operations. 2.
- →Supervises and directs a staff of engineers and inspectors in grades GS-13 and below assigned to the Well Operations Sections. 3.
- →Directs the conduct of internal reviews and oversight of the offshore inspection program in the GOAR to assure that all such activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements and all applicable guidelines and policies. 4.
- →Provides technical leadership to direct long-range planning and implementation of innovative operational technologies and rapidly advancing technology in the field of oil and gas engineering. 5.
- →Serves as a senior subject matter expert and principle technical liaison to assigned region and Headquarters in regard to GOAR OCS oil, gas and mineral drilling, completion, and workover operations.
- →The Bureau of Safety & Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval..
- →Salary Information GS-14: Step 1 $145,052 to Step 10 $188,573 per annum.
- →First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level.
- →This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.
