About the Role
You will serve as a Supervisory Park Ranger (I) with National Park Service, Yosemite National Park. This position serves as the Branch Chief of Interpretive Field Operations and is the technical and professional expert on personal interpretive services. This is a temporary promotion and/or detail not to exceed 1-year and can be extended up to 5 years. This temporary promotion may be made permanent without further competition.
What You'll Do
- →Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Serves as the primary staff member for managing and coordinating the personal interpretive services program, including providing direction, review, planning, execution, and coordination of all personal interpretive services programs.
- →Monitors expenditures of all funds allotted to interpretive operations, prepares and revises budgets, and assists in the development of long-ranger fiscal planning for the branch and Division as needed.
- →Supervises six operational programs and related personnel ranging from GS9's to GS12's, as well as 60 plus seasonal staff and volunteers.
- →Plans, coordinates, conducts, and reviews training of permanent and seasonal interpretive staff.
- →Determines annual operating budget needs for five operational units and provides guidance to subordinate supervisors responsible for management of district budgets in a timely manner.
