About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Atlanta Field Office, Fines, Penalties and Forfeitures Division located in Atlanta, Georgia Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

What You'll Do

  • As a Supervisory Paralegal Specialist, you will serve as a Fines, Penalties & Forfeitures (FPF) Officer performing and directing administrative and operational work of the FPF and Seized Property programs.
  • This position starts at a salary of $112,556.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $146,325.00 (GS-13, Step 10) Receiving, examining, and evaluating petitions filed by individuals, attorneys, and/or corporations or other legal entities seeking relief from seizures, penalties, fines, and/or liquidated damages.
  • Reviewing and making decisions as to the acceptability of evidence in fraud cases, significant seizure cases, and in any case of unusual circumstances and/or complexity.
  • Providing technical and administrative guidance and assignments to subordinates.
  • Establishing work schedules, priorities, deadlines, and standards for acceptable work, coordinating and integrating with others that interface with the work process.

Requirements
