What You'll Do
- →If selected for this position, you will serve as a Supervisory Paralegal Specialist with the United States Attorney's Office, Eastern District of North Carolina.
- →Duties will include, but are not limited to: Providing administrative and technical supervision to Paralegal Specialists and Legal Assistants in the Civil Division.
- →Serving as the principal advisor regarding all administrative matters.
- →Instructing and training support personnel by developing training plans, conducting on-the-job training, recommending formal training when needed, and providing back-up skills by cross training.
- →Identifying developmental and training needs of employees and providing such development and training as necessary.
- →Monitoring work to ensure high quality of work and deadlines are met.
- →Setting priorities and preparing appropriate schedules for the completion of work.
- →Ensuring work is technically adequate and accurate.
- →Evaluating workload, functions and operations and making changes accordingly.
- →Advising employees of performance requirements and keeping them informed of their progress, including preparing formal evaluations and progress reviews.
- →With assistance from management, holds corrective interviews with subordinate employees as necessary.
- →Overseeing time and attendance/leave requests, assuring adequate coverage due to workload and absences.
- →Assisting with litigation of cases by performing specialized research and writing in support of attorneys.
- →Providing assistance in trial preparation and exhibits.
