As a Supervisory Outreach Specialist, you will lead the development and implementation of programs that support the civic integration and citizenship education mission of the office. You also manage the development of a variety of public-facing citizenship education and awareness materials.

What You'll Do

  • Uses subject matter expertise in publications development, outreach, and project evaluation to articulate the assignment, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues, deadlines and time frames for completion.
  • Prepares reports and maintains records of accomplishments and administrative information, as required, and coordinates the preparation, presentation, and communication of work-related information to the OoC Chief and Deputy Chief.
  • Creates and implements outreach mechanisms to support the office’s citizenship and civic integration program delivery and directs citizenship outreach efforts to key stakeholders.
  • Directs the planning, organization, coordination, and monitoring of the majority of outreach and engagement on the part of the Office of Citizenship.
  • Supervises the team responsible for the publication of high-quality citizenship, informational and educational resources for use by non-native English-speaking immigrants as well as immigrant-serving organizations.
  • Manages the Branch’s effort to support activities, campaigns and initiatives that fall under the Interagency Strategy for Promoting Naturalization.

  • Citizenship and Immigration Services.
  • This residency requirement states that candidates must have, for three of the last five years immediately prior to applying for this position; (1) resided in the United States; OR (2) worked for the United States Government as an employee overseas in a Federal or Military capacity, OR (3) been a dependent of a U.S.
  • Federal or Military employee serving overseas.
  • Supervisory/Managerial Probationary Period: You may be required to serve a twelve-month probationary period upon appointment to this position.
  • You may also be required to complete an appropriate supervisory training course within one year of assignment to this position.
  • EDUCATIONAL SUBSTITUTION: There is no educational substitution at this grade level.
