As a Supervisory Operations Support Specialist, you will oversee specialists and serve as a subject matter expert in resource management areas that include asset, emergency, facilities, safety, security, and space management-by evaluating, improving, and prioritizing services..

What You'll Do

  • Supervises a team of Operations Support Specialists, overseeing productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency in asset, emergency, facilities, safety, security, and space management.
  • Assigns work based on priorities, considering assignment complexity and employee capabilities; sets and adjusts short-term priorities and target completion dates.
  • Serves as a technical subject matter expert in resource management programs related to health and safety, facility and space management, property management and accountability, and physical security, emergency management.
  • Represents the organization at meetings and conferences, providing expert guidance, recommendations, and briefings to decision makers on major mission or administrative programs through authoritative written communications.
  • Makes recommendations that form the basis for new regulations, programs, systems, and for improvements to existing systems and processes.
  • Supervises and directs the regional emergency management team responsible for crisis communications in response to emergent and/or weather-related events affecting personnel, infrastructure or operations.

Requirements

  • Citizenship and Immigration Services.
  • This residency requirement states that candidates must have, for three of the last five years immediately prior to applying for this position; (1) resided in the United States; OR (2) worked for the United States Government as an employee overseas in a Federal or Military capacity, OR (3) been a dependent of a U.S.
  • Federal or Military employee serving overseas.
  • Supervisory/Managerial Probationary Period: You may be required to serve a twelve-month probationary period upon appointment to this position.
  • You may also be required to complete an appropriate supervisory training course within one year of assignment to this position.
  • EDUCATIONAL SUBSTITUTION: There is no educational substitution at this grade level.
