About the Role
This position is located at the Zuni Comprehensive Community Health Center, Division of Nursing, Department of Obstetrics, Zuni, New Mexico. The position provides professional and administrative supervision to the obstetrical nursing staff and provides obstetrical nursing services. The incumbent report to the Chief Nurse Executive. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).
What You'll Do
- →Total Compensation Package - Check out IHS's outstanding total compensation package for this job: Registered Nurse Total Compensation | Pay (ihs.gov) Serves as the nurse supervisor for the obstetrical nursing unit and performs obstetrical nursing services.
- →Provides direct professional clinical nursing care to antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients in an inpatient setting.
- →Interviews patients and family members, reviews medical records and documents nursing assessment and actions Develops and implements individualized plans of care, Initiates and manages intravenous therapy, performs venipuncture and administers medications and prescribed therapeutic interventions.
- →Recognizes and responds to emergency clinical situations.
- →Operates specialized clinical equipment Supervises and manages assigned obstetrical nursing personnel.
- →Plans and assigns work schedules.
- →Approves/deny leave request.
- →Provides guidance and consultation to staff.
- →Takes disciplinary action as warranted.
- →Reviews and updates unit policy and procedure manuals.
Requirements
