About the Role
About the Position: This position is located within the Department of Nursing on the Mixed Medical-Surgical Unit at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. The incumbent serves as a Supervisory Nurse responsible for directing, overseeing, and coordinating the work of professional nursing staff engaged in delivering comprehensive clinical care within a Medical-Surgical environment. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
What You'll Do
- →Serve as Assistant Head Nurse in the General Surgery Unit, performing a variety of supervisory, administrative, and floor duties as an extension and in support of the head nurse.
- →Advise attending physicians of significant changes in a patient’s condition in a timely manner.
- →Coordinate the work of professional nursing staff engaged in delivering comprehensive medical-surgical patient care.
- →Communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively with staff, patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- →Direct nursing teams, managing daily operations, and fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
- →Assign and monitor work, evaluate performance, and provide constructive coaching to improve staff competency and engagement.
- →Utilize electronic health record systems and clinical technologies used to support patient care and documentation.
