Supervisory Mobility Transportation Specialist

About the Role
The primary purpose of this position is to manage all Veteran Transportation Service (VTS) and Beneficial Travel (BT) Program activities, including patient transport, Special Mode Travel (SMT), mileage reimbursement claims, transportation contracts, 911 ambulance claims, inter-facility transfers, and common carrier transportation.
What You'll Do
- →Orchestrates travel for eligible enrollers through mileage reimbursement and contracted travel modes.
- →Plans, develops, evaluates, markets and directs key administrative activities in multiple programs related to transportation system for Veterans, active-duty service members, Caregivers and others in metropolitan and rural/remote rural areas, especially those which are disabled, frail, elderly or receiving life dependent treatments (dialysis, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, etc.).
- →Conducts complex and special studies for efficiency and productivity and recommends changes or improvements in work methods and procedures.
- →Identifies resources (staffing, funding, equipment, facilities) required to support varied level of program operations.
- →Manages transportation budget, analyzes organizational budgets, and provides advice and recommendations to Medical Center management, as appropriate, including critical budget areas and all Transportation program matters.
- →Serves as Contracting Officer Representative for all transportation contracts, including common carrier, special mode, ambulance, and air ambulance.
- →Provides consistent and effective outreach to community transit authorities.
- →Coordinates the preparation and submission of recurring monthly, quarterly and annual performance improvement reports, management briefings, summaries, and a wide variety of non-recurring reports.
- →Assures performance measures and standards issued by various accrediting, regulatory, and higher agency authorities.
- →Assures that all transportation staff obtains and maintains appropriate licenses, certifications and training appropriate for each position.
