Supervisory Mobility Transportation Specialist

About the Role
The incumbent serves as a Supervisory Mobility Transportation Specialist - Mobility Manager and manages all Veterans Transportation System (VTS) and Beneficiary Travel (BT) Program activities, including patient transport, Special Mode Travel (SMT), mileage reimbursement claims, transportation contracts, 911 ambulance claims, inter-facility transfers, and common carrier transportation.
What You'll Do
- →The position supervises/ensures the VTS and BT processes comply with regulatory guidance, while assuring program effectiveness.
- →They serve as the Contracting Officer Representative for all transportation contracts, including common carrier, Special Mode, ambulance, and air ambulance.
- →The incumbent is also responsible for working with state Veterans and Transportation Agencies and local transportation providers to establish expanded transportation networks to improve Veterans access to care.
- →Major duties include but are not limited to: Manages the Veterans Transportation Program at the facility which provides safe and reliable transportation to Veterans who require assistance traveling to and from VA health care facilities and authorized non-VA health care appointments within the Medical Center's catchment area.
- →Orchestrates travel for eligible enrollees through mileage reimbursement and contracted travel modes.
- →Identifies resources (staffing, funding, equipment, facilities) required to support varied level of program operations.
- →Manages transportation budget, analyzes organizational budgets, and provides advice and recommendations to Medical Center management, as appropriate, including critical budget areas and all Transportation program matters.
- →Serves as Contracting Officer Representative for all transportation contracts, including common carrier, special mode, ambulance, and air ambulance.
- →Provides consistent and effective outreach to community transit authorities.
- →Coordinates the preparation and submission of recurring monthly, quarterly, and annual performance improvement reports, management briefings, summaries, and a wide variety of nonrecurring reports.
- →Assures performance measures and standards issued by various accrediting, regulatory, and higher agency authorities.
