About the Role
The Robert J. Dole Wichita VAMC is recruiting for a Supervisory Medical Support Assistant within the Office of Community Care.
What You'll Do
- →This position serves as a Supervisory Medical Support Assistant (MSA) in the Office of Community Care (OCC) at the Robert J.
- →Dole Wichita VAMC.
- →Incumbent is under the supervision of the Nurse Manager of OCC.
- →Incumbent is responsible for directing, coordinating and supervising a variety of administrative and clerical functions necessary to provide quality and timely healthcare to our Veterans.
- →The incumbent has full administrative and professional responsibility for directing the MSAs activities.
- →Responsible for extracting and analyzing data to provide reports in support of performance measures to senior management.
- →The incumbent must consider the healthcare system strategic goals of maximizing current and future resources, improving clinical delivery continuum of care, promoting positive image of customer satisfaction within the Medical Center.
- →Directs and coordinates the activities of administrative staff assigned to the clinic areas and integrating workloads and assignments to fully utilize all available resources.
- →The incumbent is responsible for training employee in this section.
- →This training is continuous due to employee turnover and the constant changes in regulations, procedures, and Medical Center duties.
- →The incumbent prepares written and/or verbal instructions on new and/or revised policies and procedures.
- →Provides advice on new clinical support procedures when clinical programs are added or changed.
- →Maintains current knowledge of new VA rules and regulations on clinical and administrative aspects of available medical care programs.
- →Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements

- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
