About the Role
This position is located in Patient Business Services at the Chalmers P. Wylie VA Medical Center. The incumbent serves as a Supervisory Medical Support Assistant (MSA) in Primary Care. Incumbent must possess knowledge of clinic processes and services to function in and interact with various clinics throughout the facility. Employee must have knowledge of and ability to apply policies and procedures associated with operational activities that affect workload data.
What You'll Do
- →The Supervisory MSA has full responsibility for supervising subordinate Advanced Medical Support Assistant within the service.
- →The incumbent is responsible for assuring accurate appointment management and the coordination of all administrative information between the professional staff and the patient.
- →Duties include but are not limited to: Evaluate the work of subordinate staff.
- →Assure accurate appointment management and the coordination of all administrative information between the professional staff and the patient.
- →Evaluate performance and taking disciplinary action when necessary.
- →Work collaboratively with facility programs, services, and interprofessional coordinated care team members to facilitate access to care through focused efforts on meeting the needs of Veterans via various available contact modalities to include but not limited to telephone calls, secure messaging, chat, text messaging and videoconferencing.
- →Identify educational or training needs.
- →Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
- →Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.

Requirements
