The Supervisory Medical Care Transportation Technician is assigned to the Department of Veteran Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Veterans Transportation Services (VTS), Ambulance Service, for the South Texas VA Health Care System (VANTHCS) with an emergency room, acute care or urgent care clinic, or other similar departments performing basic and advanced life support procedures.
What You'll Do
- →The Supervisory Medical Care Transportation Technician performs technical duties as a Paramedic (Basic and Advanced Life Support Services).
- →In addition to performing all the duties and responsibilities of a Paramedic, the person in this position will, as a regular and recurring part of their assignment, exercise supervisory authorities and responsibilities over the Ambulance Services Program (ASP).
- →Work Schedule: Supervisory Paramedics may work rotating shifts, including holidays, and are subject to occasional recall to maintain adequate coverage of the Emergency Department and ambulance service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- →Mandatory overtime may be required due to run times that may extend beyond normal scheduled work hours.
- →Telework: This position is eligible for Telework on an Ad-hoc basis.
- →Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
