The Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina is recruiting for a Supervisory Medical Administration Specialist located in Nursing Services
What You'll Do
- →The Supervisory Medical Administration Specialist will supervise all current and future administrative staff assigned to the Charleston Specialty Clinic.
- →Major duties include: Collecting, aggregating and analyzing clinic program data.
- →Participates in quality assurance reviews, conducts process improvement initiatives, monitors compliance with patient safety standards, and conducts regular audits of consult management and scheduling practices to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- →In-depth knowledge of VA scheduling procedures, community care regulations, consult management, and patient flow optimization Assigns daily tasks, monitors performance, conducts formal appraisals, and approves leave requests while maintaining adequate staffing levels Managing all aspects of clinic scheduling compliance with VHA scheduling directives.
- →Identifies training needs, provides coaching and mentorship, develops tailored training programs, and administers disciplinary actions in accordance with VA policies when necessary.
- →Performs labor mapping reviews and all other processes for the use and analysis of VA Managerial Cost Accounting (MCA) data.
- →Monitoring active and pending consults, managing workloads to meet service delivery timelines, and ensuring all consult-related documentation complies with VHA policies.
- →Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.
- →Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
- →Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm Compressed/Flexible: NOT APPLICABLE Telework: This position may be authorized for telework.
