You will serve as a SUPERVISORY MECHANICAL ENGINEER in the Air Vehicle Engineering Department, Fuel Containment Branch of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
What You'll Do
- →You will review, formulate, establish, and negotiate all engineering requirements and criteria governing the design, certification, life limits and in-service integrity of air vehicle Subsystems.
- →You will plan and control technical direction of laboratory and flight testing programs, including evaluation of test plans, specifying instrumentation requirements and interpretation/approval of data/test results.
- →You will develop engineering solutions to fleet subsystems problems with relating to aircraft Fuel, Hydraulics, Thermal, Landing Gear, and Mechanical Subsystems and components and generates operational limits/technical basis to ensure safe operation.
- →You will participate and represent the Navy on appropriate DOD, national, and international panels, boards, committees, and advisory groups.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
