Education Service (EDU) has department-wide responsibility for activities relating to administering VA educational assistance programs to Veterans, Servicemembers, National Guard and Reserve members, and eligible dependents for their military service. EDU's mission is accomplished by providing financial assistance in the form of monthly benefit payments, as mandated in Title 38 and Title 10, United States Code. The incumbent serves as the Supervisory MP&A for the Digital Engagement Team.
What You'll Do
- →Specific duties include: Serves as the Chief for Digital Engagement staff.
- →The incumbent provides consultation and technical expertise in the creation of strategic and integrated plans and strategies for communication and marketing programs, campaigns, and activities related to EDU GI Bill programs.
- →The incumbent is responsible for developing, organizing, analyzing, and promoting EDU products and services through digital channels - web, social media, mobile, e-mail.
- →Plans and develops EDU's digital strategy in compliance with established standards and oversight to ensure content and products effectively communicates benefits information to Veterans, servicemembers, survivors, and their dependents.
- →Program Planning and Development Develops and plans objectives and operations for new and existing programs within the scope of digital engagement program activities.
- →Recommends appropriate methods of securing required information and develops data from surveys, discussions with operating officials, legislative directives, policies, plans, reports, schedules, records, and similar materials.
- →Participates in all phases of organizational and management activities significant to EDU and VBA web programs.
- →Provides executive level oversight for the integration and life cycle management of digital communication, sites, products and business processes to ensure viable support is available to sustain EDU.
- →Develop and defends strategic plans, acquisition/investment strategies and policy for digital efforts.
- →Leads a unit or team of employees performing work at the GS-13 level.
- →Provides guidance and technical direction necessary for accomplishing the work off the unit or team.
- →Facilitates team or unit processes by working in collaboration with team members or employee to ensure that tasks are completed, that good working relationships among team members and within management are maintained, and that team priorities and goals, needs, and achievements are coordinated with management.
- →Articulates and communicates to the team the assignment, project, and problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion.
