Serves as the Deputy Field Chief of Police for VA Police Services, providing executive leadership and strategic oversight of law enforcement operations, physical security, crisis intervention programs, and compliance activities across a multi-facility catchment area.
What You'll Do
- →Duties include but are not limited to: Ensuring new employees are properly oriented and familiarized with applicable policies and procedures.
- →Ensuring all training requirements are met for staff and performance proficiency goals are meets.
- →Exploring training opportunities for staff to improve or enhance delivery of services and increase officers' cultural competencies.
- →Ensuring police staff are properly trained to operate a variety of equipment and/or security systems.
- →Observing, evaluates, and prepares reports on the performance of department personnel.
- →Developing programs to alter the behavior of employees whose work performance is below acceptable standards.
- →Planning, assigning and explaining work requirements to subordinates for new or changed programs and the functions, goals, processes, skills, and needs.
- →Developing solutions to continuing problems in the quality of work, operating effectiveness and recommends necessary corrective actions.
- →Hearing grievances and complaints, reviews disciplinary cases, and recommends appropriate actions to higher level management.

Requirements
- ✓You must be a U.S.
