The Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist position is in the Supply Chain Management service of the VA Boston Healthcare System located at the Brockton campus for non-expendable (NX) assets/materials. The position oversees multiple series and is recognized as the Material Management Division's subject matter expert and serves as a consultant to the Chief Supply Chain Officer (CSCO) and Assistant CSCO on property management matters for material management concepts and practices.
What You'll Do
- →The Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist occupies a major position in the Supply Chain Management Service and is critical to the operations of the medical center and supported catchment areas.
- →Conducts data analysis regarding NX asset needs based on disparate data points including multiple factors which impact procurement decisions.
- →Participates in VISN and facility strategic planning to support minor and major construction projects.
- →Develops and supports the creation of acquisition strategies and standardization initiatives.
- →Supply Management: responsible for the management and control of NX equipment and the inventory management of all NX assets; provides full logistics and supply chain support of pre-planning, preparation and equipment purchases; implements and monitors automated NX inventory management systems; and analyzes, studies, develops, and directs systems in connection with the NX requirements.
- →Implements best practices, principles, tools and concepts to evaluate and improve supply system performance.
- →Manages the equipment / supplies for multiple programs.
- →Trains and assists delegated staff.
- →Schedules and conducts physical inventories.
- →Writes, develops, interprets and implements policies and procedures to ensure an efficient program.
- →Serves as Training Officer for the Material Management Section of the Supply Chain Management service.
- →Performs other related duties as assigned.
- →Work Schedule: Full time, Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Requirements
