You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER in the ENGINES AND AUXILIARY POWER ENGINEERING DIVISION, PROPULSION AND POWER ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
What You'll Do
- →You will be responsible for providing the people, skills, capabilities, and processes necessary for full life cycle engineering and technical support of propulsion system products, including engines and aux power units.
- →You will identify and forecast propulsion system technology needs and impact on new/uprated and/or legacy propulsion systems.
- →You will conduct surveillance and oversight of Division products and programs, as required, to provide forward-looking guidance, resolve policy conflict issues, and ensure that propulsion and power division objectives are met.
- →You will provide general supervision to staff of civilian senior and journeyman engineering managers, engineering trainees and system analysts.
- →You will participate in the formulation and implementation of acquisition and in-service support policy and processes.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
