You will serve as a Supervisory Mechanical Engineer or Supervisory Aerospace Engineer in the Air Vehicle Engineering Department of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. You will also function as a Science and Technology Group Lead in support of assigned aviation weapon systems.
What You'll Do
- →You will be considered an expert in Flight Controls technical discipline and associated tools and processes.
- →You will lead science and technology engineering activities by facilitating technology transfer from science and technology research to programs of record, and supporting flight controls development for assigned aviation weapon systems.
- →You will develop project-planning objectives for engineering development of current and long range programs.
- →You will supervise and perform official supervisory responsibilities for assigned subordinates.
- →You will interpret policies promulgated by authorities to determine their effect on aviation program needs.
- →You will oversee the planning of resources to accomplish major blocks of the engineering endeavor.
- →You will prepare written and oral presentations stakeholders on project status, technical problems, scheduling, and costs for assigned program/project.
- →You will accomplish other duties as assigned.

- ✓Additionally, all applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
