Every day, our Supervisory Immigration Services Officers (Field Office Director) direct the adjudications and naturalization programs and manage all administrative immigration programs, activities and operations within a USCIS Field Office and represent the Field Office in conferences and meetings.
What You'll Do
- →Organizational Location: This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S.
- →Citizenship and Immigration Services, within the Cincinnati, Ohio Field Office and are assigned based on the need of the agency.
- →Independently manage all operational immigration programs and activities as well as all administrative support functions in a Field Office.
- →Administer immigration benefits and services including the processing of citizenship applications, family and employment based petitions and registration.
- →Safeguard national security in the adjudications of immigration benefits; and ensure the integrity of the immigration system.
- →Direct the adjudications and naturalization programs and related functions in accordance with broad program objectives and policies established by United States Citizenship and Immigration Services and higher level supervisors.
- →Plan work to be completed by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and set target dates for work completion and evaluate and develop performance standards and assess work performance of subordinate supervisors.
- →Manage oversight for Field Office administrative functions, such as personnel management, labor relations, training, financial management, facilities, property management, health and safety, and emergency preparedness.
Requirements
- ✓Conditions of Employment: You must be a U.S.
- ✓Citizen or U.S.
- ✓Residency Requirement: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by U.S.
- ✓Citizenship and Immigration Services.
- ✓This residency requirement states that candidates must have, for three of the last five years immediately prior to applying for this position; (1) resided in the United States; OR (2) worked for the United States Government as an employee overseas in a Federal or Military capacity, OR (3) been a dependent of a U.S.
- ✓Federal or Military employee serving overseas.
- ✓Supervisory/Managerial Probationary Period: You may be required to serve a twelve-month probationary period upon appointment to this position.
- ✓You may also be required to complete an appropriate supervisory training course within one year of assignment to this position.
- ✓Motor Vehicle Operation: This position requires operation of a motor vehicle.
- ✓You must possess a current valid driver's license.
- ✓EDUCATIONAL SUBSTITUTION: There is no educational substitution at this grade level. name and educational institution.
- ✓Training: Selected candidates are required to attend and successfully complete the USCIS Immigration Service Officer Basic (ISO BASIC) Training Program located with the USCIS Academy Training Center in Charleston, SC.
- ✓The ISO BASIC Training Program is approximately 5-6 weeks of academic instruction on the Immigration and Nationality Act, Code of Federal Regulations, and other immigration-related topics.
- ✓Failure to meet the minimum exam average by the end of the course is grounds for removal from the position..
