As a Supervisory Immigration Services Officer, you will manage all administrative immigration programs and related functions, activities and operations within a Regional Office and direct the Region's adjudication programs.
What You'll Do
- →Independently manage all administrative immigration programs and related functions, activities and operations within a Regional Office.
- →Through subordinate supervisors and staff, direct the Region's adjudication programs and related functions in accordance with broad program objectives and policies established by USCIS Headquarters and higher-level supervisors.
- →Participate in the development and implementation of short and long-term program goals for the Region, and analyze any issues related to their implementation.
- →Provide comprehensive information, analysis and recommendations regarding operational and policy issues that merit attention and may serve as the basis for new systems, legislation, regulations or programs.
- →Manage oversight on administrative functions, such as personnel management, labor relations, training, financial management, facilities, property management, health and safety, and emergency preparedness.
Requirements

- ✓Residency Requirement: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by U.S.
- ✓Citizenship and Immigration Services.
- ✓This residency requirement states that candidates must have, for three of the last five years immediately prior to applying for this position; (1) resided in the United States; OR (2) worked for the United States Government as an employee overseas in a Federal or Military capacity, OR (3) been a dependent of a U.S.
- ✓Federal or Military employee serving overseas.
- ✓Supervisory/Managerial Probationary Period: You may be required to serve a twelve-month probationary period upon appointment to this position.
- ✓You may also be required to complete an appropriate supervisory training course within one year of assignment to this position.
- ✓EDUCATIONAL SUBSTITUTION: There is no educational substitution at this grade level.
- ✓Training: Selected candidates are required to attend and successfully complete the USCIS Immigration Service Officer Basic (ISO BASIC) Training Program located with the USCIS Academy Training Center in Charleston, SC.
- ✓The ISO BASIC Training Program is approximately 5-6 weeks of academic instruction on the Immigration and Nationality Act, Code of Federal Regulations, and other immigration-related topics.
