About the Role
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY HISTORIAN of NAVAL HISTORY AND HERITAGE COMMAND.
What You'll Do
- →You will primarily be responsible for the training of new historians, tracking weekly pay and leave issues, making annual evaluations of employee work performance, and recommending personnel actions.
- →You will work consistently to develop and oversee future research planning and execution.
- →You will plan, research, and prepare original studies, monographs, briefings and booklets that furnish detailed historical background and perspective to current and historic Navy issues.
- →You will assign, review, and sometimes provide section responses to historical inquiries.
- →You will represent the Naval History and Heritage Command at historical meetings and conferences.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess Degree: history; or related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history.
- ✓OR Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in history, or a major in a related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
