About the Role

This vacancy is for a Supervisory Government Information Specialist in the Office of the Secretary within the Department of Commerce.

What You'll Do

  • As a Supervisory Government Information Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Formulate and implement organizational goals and objectives.
  • Plan and evaluate programs, design organizational structure, promote economy of operations, plan and control an organizational budget.
  • Serve as the Deputy Program Director for Departmental FOIA/PA and Privacy Compliance operations.
  • Function as both the Departmental FOIA Officer and the Departmental Privacy Act Officer.
  • Ensure Department-wide adherence to the FOIA, the Privacy Act of 1974, FISMA the E-Government Act of 2022, applicable Executive Orders, OMB requirements, and NIST standards.
  • Manage an office with bureau-wide responsibility, a major office of an extramural program or major office through subordinate supervisors reporting directly to this position.
  • Direct day-to-day FOIA and privacy compliance activities for OS.
  • Carry out broad, unprecedented projects involving the substance of key bureau or department wide programs.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.
  • This position requires a TOP SECRET/SCI CLEARANCE: Any required investigations and clearances must be completed before the selectee can be placed in the position.
  • You must successfully pass a background investigation.

  • A probationary or trial period may be required.
  • A supervisory probationary period may be required.
