About the Role
This position is located in a regional office of the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act (PACA) Division for the Fair Trade Practices Program. You will serve as a Regional Director and share the responsibility for administering the functions of the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act (PACA) and Produce Agency Act (PAA) in that area.
What You'll Do
- →The duties may include, but are not limited to: Participates with the Director of the Division in developing information and making recommendations for amendments to the laws and regulations that will promote orderly marketing of fruits and vegetables.
- →Reviews, appraises, and evaluates the handling of complaints under the PACA to determine if Division policies and procedures are being followed and every effort is being made to eliminate unfair trading practices.
- →Instructs marketing specialists on investigational trips concerning the conduct of highly complex license, reparation, and disciplinary investigations.
- →Responsible for ensuring that only responsible firms and individuals are granted a license and permitted in the marketplace to trade in fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables in interstate and foreign commerce.
- →Oversees staff responding to complex issues dealing with license denials, bonding, and employment restrictions.
- →Directs, reviews and oversees correspondence prepared by staff involving complex issues dealing with license denials and employment restrictions.
