About the Role
The position is located in the Office of American Spaces and Educational Advising , Deputy Assistant Secretary for Preservation and Global Platforms, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA/P/AS). The incumbent is recognized as a technical authority on all aspects of the Bureau's support, guidance and policy for American Spaces and EducationUSA to achieve U.S. foreign policy objectives, the incumbent serves as a Deputy Director, ECA/P/AS.
What You'll Do
- →Provides policy guidance and operational direction to both the global network of American Spaces and Educational Advising Centers ensuring adherence to Department and Bureau policy objectives.
- →Monitors evolving policy priorities, and tracks the development of high-profile events and engagements and political changes that may affect the achievement of public diplomacy objectives, and relevant administrative management issues.
- →Works with the Office Director to manage an office with a program budget of approximately $21 million Washington–based staff of Civil Servants, Foreign Service, Regional Public Engagement Specialists, Contractors; and Locally Employed Staff abroad.
- →Coordinates and prepares formal responses to Bureau, Departmental, Congressional and White House requests for program and funding information, and coordinates responses to request from Ambassadors, Public Affairs Officers, and other senior officials.
