This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Emergency Services, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA.
What You'll Do
- →Direct the work of firefighting crews engaged in various activities to include, but not limited to, fire suppression, technical rescue, hazardous material response, emergency medical response, facility fire risk surveys, public education campaigns.
- →Direct operational activities for multiple fire stations including care and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
- →Discuss fire hazards and deficiencies with responsible installation officials.
- →Recommend solutions and compliance measures for special situations.
- →Assist with public education campaigns to promote fire and home safety and addresses units or special interest groups on emergency service related issues.
- →Instruct firefighter personnel in classroom and hands-on training exercises.
- →Oversee fire reporting data and reports to higher headquarters, insuring accuracy and timeliness.
