About the Role
About the Position: Serve as a Supervisory Firefighter with the Directorate of Emergency Service at Fort Riley, Kansas. This position is included under the provisions of Special Retirement Coverage (SRC) and may have both a maximum entry age and a mandatory retirement date. What You'll Do
- →Serves as Battalion chief with responsibility for the operational readiness and organizational maintenance of fire fighting equipment.
- →Schedules workload for each 24-hour shift and checks on progress of work to be accomplished.
- →Responds with fire companies to fires, crash emergencies, emergency medical situations, and hazardous materials spills/situations.
- →Ensures all scheduled fire inspections and all associated reports are completed.
- →Instructs and drills fire fighters in basic and advanced fire fighting techniques ensuring all aspects of training subject meets minimum standards of applicable NFPA Professional Firefighter Qualification.
