About the Role
About the Position: Serves as assistant chief and shift supervisor for the Directorate of Emergency Services. Fire Protection & Prevention Division in Fort McCoy, WI. This position is included under the provisions of Special Retirement Coverage (SRC) and may have both a maximum entry age and a mandatory retirement date. What You'll Do
- →Establishes jobs and performance requirements.
- →Performs as shift supervisor over crew chiefs, truck drivers and journeyman firefighters engaged in all activities relative to fire prevention, fire fighting, inspection and standby at air field.
- →Serves as the Incident Commander with a specialization in Operations.
- →In concert with the chief and other supervisors, develops plans, procedures, methods, and techniques to provide and sustain an efficient and effective fire suppression and rescue force.
- →Makes decisions and takes command to ensure that mutual aid support is also requested to protect installation personnel and government assets when required Responds and takes charge on emergency calls and urgent calls for assistance.
