This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Position located with the DES - Fire Protection & Prevention Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.
What You'll Do
- →Directly supervise civilian employees and military personnel, as applicable.
- →Direct the placement of equipment, personnel, application of fire extinguishing agents and rescue personnel.
- →Perform firefighting duties such as handling hose, performing rescue operations, extinguishing fire, performing as a HAZ/MAT team member, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and emergency first aid as required.
- →Ensure that personnel and equipment are in a constant state of readiness for immediate response to firefighting and rescue operations.
- →Plan work to be accomplished, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
- →Assign work and/or crew assignment based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments and the capabilities of employees.
