About the Role
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER in the FIRE & EMERGENCY SERVICES DIVISION of NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY PORTSMOUTH NSY.
What You'll Do
- →As the Assistant Fire Chief, you will advise the command and senior leadership on fire protection and related emergency response activities.
- →You will maintain awareness of changes in federal, state, or local fire service ordinances and laws to convey information to junior employees.
- →You will act as a liaison with other agencies to establish, modify, and oversee all mutual aid agreements dealing with emergency response capabilities.
- →You will collaborate with fire fighter personnel to ensure emergency responses (e.g., fire suppression, injured victims, hazardous spill cleanup) are assigned.
- →You will train firefighters on shipboard, structural, confined space, and hazardous materials firefighting procedures.
