About the Role

This position is located in Orlando, FL, at the Consolidated Patient Account Center, organizationally aligned under the Chief Operating Officer, serving as the Billing Manager for the third-party Revenue Program. The CPAC is a regionally consolidated business entity established to increase revenue within VHA using an industry best model built on regional management of key aspects of the revenue cycle, process standardization, accountability and economies of scale.

What You'll Do

  • ***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** This position involves a multi-grade career ladder.
  • The major duties listed below represent the full performance level of GS-13.
  • At the GS-12 grade level, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence.
  • You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-13.
  • Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher level work, and availability of funds.
  • Duties may include, but are not limited to the following: Exercises management responsibility for complex billing activities for all the facilities assigned to the CPAC.
  • Implements and manages all aspects of billing activities for CPAC clients and a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ensures the financial health and integrity of Billing practices, procedures, policies, and operations throughout the CPAC.
  • Provides management oversight, guidance, corrective measures, and direction for monitoring activities designed to ensure the integrity and accuracy of healthcare claims.
  • Monitors a wide range of data in order to identify patterns or trends and to ensure accurate billing in accordance with appropriate rules and regulations.
  • Identifies negative and positive trends to assist in the development of strategies for revenue improvement.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates clinical guidelines and protocols to establish appropriate utilization of services.
  • Provides guidance, enhancement, and direction in the development of billing software.
  • Interpreting billing rules, regulations, and policies.
