About the Role

You will serve as a Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist at Crater Lake National Park in Crater Lake, OR. Please visit find a park for additional park information. This is a Permanent, Full-time, Competitive appointment.

What You'll Do

  • At the full performance level (GS-13) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Serves as a facility management expert and member of the park facility management team, overseeing multiple supervisory staff positions, and is responsible for park-wide Roads, Trails, Buildings, and Utilities units of the Division.
  • Serve on the facility management team providing long-range strategic planning, interdivisional coordination and partnership development.
  • Serve as the team lead for more than 50 permanent and career seasonal employees that perform a variety of trades including skilled craftsmen, equipment operators, and maintenance mechanics.
  • Identify, prioritize and develop multi-year project programs with cross divisional coordination and serve as a key point of contact for federal highways and other complex facilities projects.
  • Manage a diverse asset portfolio consisting of 79 buildings, 94 miles of trails, 45 housing units, 4 wastewater systems, 3 water systems, 7 miles of unpaved roads, and 77 miles of paved roads.

  • This is a supervisory position that may require completion of a supervisory probationary period.
  • As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period during which your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest will be evaluated.
  • This probationary period is an extension of the appointment process and therefore requires the agency to determine if continued employment would advance the public interest, meet the organization goals and mission of the agency, and/or otherwise promote the efficiency of the service.
