About the Role

The primary purpose of this position is to program, manage, schedule and direct the operations, maintenance and repair, rehabilitation, and improvements for Facilities Management, Crow Service Unit, Billings Area Office Indian Health Services. Facilities will include the Crow/Northern Cheyenne Hospital, Pryor and Lodge Grass Clinics, and government quarters located at Crow Agency and Lodge Grass, MT A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

What You'll Do

  • Plan and schedule ongoing production-oriented work on a quarterly and annual basis or direct assignments of similar duration; adjust staffing levels or work procedures; justify the purchase of new equipment; improve work methods and procedures; oversee the development of technical data, estimates, statistics, suggestions; decide methodologies used in achieving work goals and objectives.
  • Analyze benefits and costs of accomplishing work in-house versus contracting; recommend whether to contract.
  • Provide technical requirements and descriptions of the work to be accomplished.
  • Plan and establish the work schedules, deadlines, and standards for acceptable work, coordinate and integrate contractor work schedules and processes with work of subordinates or others.
  • Track progress and qualify of performance; arrange for subordinates to conduct any require inspections.
  • Decide on acceptability, rejection or correction of work products or services and similar matters which may affect payment to a contractor.
  • Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
  • Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
  • Evaluate work performance of subordinates.
  • Oversee the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) program for the service unit.
  • Received, investigates and verifies installation maintenance requests to determine propriety and approves all requests for maintenance and repair.
  • Develops, provides guidance, and manages real property operations in service unit department facilities.
  • Oversees the development of maintenance methods, standards and techniques.
  • Develops and implements and oversees the management of preventative maintenance programs to ensure life expectancy of operational facilities.

Requirements

  • Citizenship is required Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959 This is a designated position covered by Public Law 101-630, requiring contact or control over Indian children.

  • Background Investigation Requirement: This position requires the successful completion of a federal background investigation as a condition of employment.
