You will serve as Chief for the Operations Section of the Emergency Management Branch. You will work under the general administrative direction of the Emergency Management Branch Chief who makes assignments of a broad and general nature covering long-range program priorities, policies, and objectives. You are responsible for providing advice and guidance to the Emergency Management Branch Chief on emergency requirements in collaboration with other federal departments, agencies, and programs.
What You'll Do
- →The duties may include, but are not limited to: Responsible for the coordination, operationalization, and management of APHIS Operations Centers, information and support requests, significant event reporting, and emergency notification.
- →Conducts functional assessments and analysis, prepare staff papers, make oral presentations, and submit written reports of directorate operations to the Branch Chief and Director.
- →Provides recommendations to leadership on EOC activation levels and coordinates appropriate staffing to support real-world and training events.
- →Notifies leadership of significant challenges and unsatisfied customers in a timely manner and escalates requests to the appropriate level.
- →Provides research and technical analysis for all-hazards vulnerabilities and prepares reports for senior leadership.
