This Supervisory Electronics Technician is in the Office of the Facilities Management Service at VA Connecticut Healthcare System, located in West Haven, CT. This position is full-time at 40 hours per week.
What You'll Do
- →Major Duties & Responsibilities are but limited to: Oversees daily operation of Electronics Technicians, to ensure agency policies and priorities are being followed; develops performance standards; and evaluates work performance of subordinates.
- →Advices, counsels, and instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.
- →Resolves minor complaints from employees.
- →Interviews candidates for positions in the unit; recommends appointments, promotions, and reassignments to unit positions; identifies and provides for training needs; and finds ways to improve production or increase the quality of work to support Engineering section.
- →Provide technical expertise related to electronic and facility enterprise systems via planning, design, implementation, testing, evaluation, project management, professional consulting and reporting, data mining, and full life cycle management.
- →Handle project management: stabilizing the expansion of existing enterprise systems to newly constructed areas and station-level projects under renovation or modernization and serving as a Contracting Officer's Representative for approved projects/implementations.
- →This entails detailed schematic review and ensuring technical language is written into the architectural and/or construction documents.
- →Planning and oversight during installation of electronic and facility enterprise systems as well as directs modifications to equipment and/or designs to remediate issues presented by unforeseen site conditions.
- →Consulting and reporting information from enterprise systems through software applications that interface with system servers.
- →Entering information into a format that can be understood by non-technical staff.
- →Performs full life cycle management of responsible systems is initiated by a clinical need for technology, pre-procurement assessment, design of the equipment necessary to meet the need as well as interface with the network, development of the on-going support strategy, and then end of life replacement strategies.
- →Responsible for technical supervision of highly complex electronic and facility enterprise systems to include (but is not limited to): design, installation, modification, evaluation, testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and end user competency training.
- →Performs duties of a broad scope and complexity including analyzing, diagnosing, and maintaining electronic and facility enterprise systems.
- →Analyze organizational needs to design, develop, and implement, customized solutions utilizing software and/or hardware.
