This position is located in Response & Recovery, Logistics Management Directorate, Distribution Management Division in the Georgia Section. The ideal candidate for this position should possess experience in staff supervision, facility management, inventory management, logistics operations, property acquisition/disposal, equipment maintenance and distribution of commodities.
What You'll Do
- →What will I do in this position if hired?
- →In this position, you will serve as a Supervisory Distribution Facilities Specialist.
- →Typical assignments include: Developing of processes, procedures, and operations to meet critical and ever-changing all-hazards requirements.
- →Planning, coordinating and evaluating logistical actions required to support the Distribution Center mission.
- →Ensuring that the mission requirements of DHS/FEMA are properly identified and that disaster operations are properly supported.
- →Employing the principles, practices, and techniques of a full-service logistics support operation to include the areas of property and facility management, inventory management, property acquisition and disposal, physical receipt, custody and distribution of materials, the selection of appropriate storage sites, and equipment maintenance on equipment such as emergency generators, vehicles, etc.

- →Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites.
- →All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description.
- →Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
