About the Role

The Supervisory Criminal Investigator (Division Director) position provides supervision, technical direction, and coordination to Special Agents in Charge of the execution of investigations of individuals and corporations suspected of violations of Title 18, United States Code (USC), and other USC titles as appropriate.

What You'll Do

  • This Supervisory Criminal Investigator (Division Director) position is located in (Investigations) Regional Investigative Operations, Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
  • Duties include but are not limited to: Leads investigations and other activities designed to prevent and detect fraud, waste, and abuse in TSA programs and operations.
  • Plans, coordinates, and conducts largescale, multi-level criminal and administrative investigations ranging from complex fraud investigations to egregious employee misconduct matters.
  • Manages reporting of investigative cases, technical activities, and operations to maximize the effective use of reported information in the development of new processes.
  • Oversees and coordinates the review of criminal, civil, and administrative investigations conducted by the investigators.
  • Participates in the review of current and proposed legislation and regulations relating to TSA programs and operations, and makes recommendations to the Deputy Director and Director on the impact of such legislation and regulations.
  • Provides leadership, guidance, expertise, and insight into the development, planning, and implementation of investigative policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Initiates, prepares, and collaborates with the Special Agents in Charge, develops short- and long range planning, forecasting, and execution of mission focused goals that address TSA vulnerabilities.
  • Ensures effective management of INV's criminal, civil, and administrative investigative activities throughout subordinate offices.
  • Coordinates efforts of inspectors, auditors, program specialists, and other Federal agencies and host country personnel, as well as State, County, and local law enforcement personnel.
  • Plans investigative strategies, techniques, and approaches prior to directing investigations, and assists prosecuting attorneys in preparing and presenting materials necessary for indictments, arraignments, trials, sentencing, and appeal proceedings before U.S. courts.
  • Coordinates with field office Special Agents in Charge regarding the initiation, planning, conducting, and reporting of a host of criminal investigations, including those of an extremely sensitive and complex nature.
  • Analyzes results of investigations and coordinates preparation of reports concerning fraud or administrative violations by TSA personnel, contractors, suppliers, recipients, and grantees in violation of U.S. criminal and civil law, or agency regulations.
  • Directs and coordinates in-depth reviews and evaluations of criminal investigation program operations.

Requirements

  • Key Requirements: You must possess U.S.
  • Citizenship or be a U.S.
  • You must have reached the minimum age (18) at the time of application.
  • Selective Service registration is required.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening AND random drug/alcohol testing.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
  • You must complete a favorable Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).
  • You may be required to complete a one-year Supervisory Trial Period.

  • TSA will not make a monetary payment for any leave forfeited under these circumstances.
