About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Professional Responsibility, Investigative Operations Directorate, Field Operations Division, located in Washington D.C. This is a Direct Hire Public Notice. Category Rating, Veterans' Preference and traditional rating and ranking do not apply to this Public Notice.

What You'll Do

  • Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring for law enforcement jobs that have an exciting opportunity!
  • Once onboarded, you'll first be assigned for up to one year to support the D.C.
  • Safe and Beautiful Task Force.
  • The law enforcement component of the D.C.
  • Task Force is a partnership of over 20 federal and local agencies working together to make D.C. the safest city in America.
  • Once the assignment ends, you'll transition back to support the CBP.

  • As a senior level OPR manager, you will provide support for all aspects of OPR's Special Agent in Charge offices and related sub-offices including investigation and matters of facilities, budget, equipment, and personnel.
  • Apply for this exciting opportunity to strength the Department's ability to protect the homeland by ensuring OPR's investigative programs support the broader CBP integrity strategy and overall mission objectives.
  • Determining program priorities and assigning work in support of established goals and objectives of OPR and CBP.
  • Representing OPR at local and national meetings, conferences, and symposia regarding the respective program area in an effort to ensure OPR and CBP interests are considered and addressed.
  • Conferring with appropriate officials of other law enforcement agencies to provide effective reciprocity of services and collaborating with officials in the resolution of problems that cross organizational and jurisdictional lines.

  • Motor Vehicle Operation: You must possess the Ability to operate a Government Owned Vehicle.
  • A valid, non-restricted driver's license is required.
  • Security Clearance: You may be required to obtain a Top Secret clearance for this position.
  • Supervisory Probationary Period: You may be required to serve an 18 month probationary period upon appointment.
