The incumbent of this position serves as the principal or senior ATF representative to the host country on law enforcement matters. The position is located and the duties are performed in the host country. The primary function of this position is to direct and manage the planning, development and implementation of joint strategies, tactics, information sharing and other programs involving mutual law enforcement concerns between ATF and the host country.
What You'll Do
- →The major duties of the Supervisory Criminal Investigator (Country Attache) position include, but are not limited to, the following: Serves as the principal or senior ATF representative to the host country on law enforcement matters and ensures that all ATF activities are in accordance with the appropriate agreements between the host country and the United States.
- →Performs the full range of supervisory duties over staff members assigned to ATF's office in the host country.
Requirements

- ✓Key Requirements: Must be U.S.
- ✓Citizen or National Selective Service registration is required for males born on, or after, December 31st 1959.
- ✓Those not registered should have an approved exemption on file.
- ✓May be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
- ✓Driver's License Requires proficiency with a firearm per ATF's Standard.
- ✓This assignment requires a Diplomatic Passport.
- ✓The selected employee will work with the International Affairs Division to obtain a Diplomatic Passport, which is issued by the Department of State.
- ✓You must be a current permanent Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives employee with competitive status or a CTAP/RPL eligible candidate.
- ✓Pass drug screening and subject to random drug test.
- ✓Suitable for Federal employment determined by background investigation.
- ✓You must meet all applicable time-in-grade requirements by the closing of this announcement.
- ✓Financial Disclosure: If selected, you may be required to disclose financial information in accordance with DOJ and Federal ethics guidelines.
- ✓MOBILITY PLAN: New employees hired pursuant to this vacancy announcement must sign a mobility agreement.
