Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Chicago Field Office, Port of Cleveland, located in Middleburg Heights, OH.
What You'll Do
- →Joining the Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations will allow you to use your expertise to manage one or more national programs in order to help to detect and prevent terrorists and instruments of terror from entering/exiting the U.S.
- →Apply for this exciting opportunity to direct programs that strengthen the Department's ability to perform homeland security.
- →This position starts at a salary of $114,220.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to$148,488.00 (GS-13, Step 10).
- →To meet agency needs, this position will be filled on a temporary basis not-to-exceed (NTE) one year(s), with possible extension(s) for an additional two year(s).
- →You may be returned, at any time, to the position from which temporarily promoted, or to a different position of equivalent grade and pay, and that the return is not subject to the procedures found in 5 C.F.R. §§ 351, 432, 752, and 771.
- →At management's discretion, you may be permanently promoted to this position without further competition.
- →In this first-line supervisory position you will become a key member of a team of Homeland Security professionals detecting and preventing terrorists and instruments of terror from entering the U.S.
- →Typical work assignments include: Supervising shift operations and providing technical advice to subordinate staff on a wide range of operational and enforcement issues related to the arrival and departure of persons, merchandise, and conveyances at the port of entry.
- →Finding ways to improve production or increase the quality of the work- Coaching and mentoring employees while planning and scheduling work on a daily basis.
- →Planning and carrying out assignments, projects, studies, or investigations intended to explore and resolve operations and law enforcement problems, or to improve new procedures.

Requirements
- ✓You must be a U.S.
- ✓Motor Vehicle Operation: You must possess the Ability to operate a Government Owned Vehicle.
- ✓A valid, non-restricted driver's license is required.
- ✓For employees detailed or temporarily promoted for less than one year, the permanent duty location is considered the duty location of record for commuting area purposes.
