About the Role
Finance Staff (FS) formulates, establishes and maintains Department-wide policies, procedures, and financial systems to support planning, programming, budgeting, accounting and other financial management activities. This position is in the Business Operations Center (BOC) responsible for the design, development, implementation, deployment, and maintenance of systems that FS administers for the Department.
What You'll Do
- →The duties and responsibilities for a Supervisory Budget Analyst, GS-0560-14 generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Oversee budget formulation, execution, and financial analysis across multiple programs or funding sources.
- →Direct development of complex budget estimates, multi-year projections, and strategic funding plans.
- →Resolve high-level financial issues and provide authoritative guidance to staff and leadership.
- →Interpret and apply advanced budget policies, funding authorities, and financial regulations.
- →Oversee execution of approved budgets and ensure compliance with financial controls and requirements.
- →Review and approve major financial reports, analyses, and resource recommendations.
- →Direct preparation, review, and approval of funding actions and financial documentation.
- →Oversee use of financial systems for data extraction, validation, analysis, and reconciliation.
- →Provide expert advice on funding strategies, resource allocation, and financial risks.
- →Lead improvements to budget workflows, reporting practices, and financial controls.
- →Oversee year-end closeout activities and resolve complex execution issues.
- →Supervise staff, assign work, evaluate performance, and provide coaching, feedback, and development.
- →Oversee workload distribution, establish priorities, and ensure timely completion of all assignments.
- →Participate in recruitment, selection, training, and disciplinary actions as required.
