Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Training and Development, U.S. Border Patrol Academy located in Artesia, New Mexico Additional selections may be made beyond the total number of vacancies specified using this vacancy announcement. Further selections may also be made for additional organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.
What You'll Do
- →This position starts at a salary of $109,383.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $142,199.00 (GS-13, Step 10).
- →As a second-line Supervisory Border Patrol Agent you will serve as a secondary law enforcement officer (under 5 U.S.C. 8331 (6C) and 8412 (d), your duties will include: Serving as a Special Operations Supervisor, supervising SBPA/CDIs and support personnel to execute the planning and developing of training curriculum and course material and delivery of instruction on a variety of subjects.
- →Planning, coordinating, directing and facilitating all aspects of training delivery for basic, advanced, and/or specialized resident and non-resident training programs.
- →Advising and supporting the CPA, DCPA, ACPA and TOS on all matters pertaining to training operations, employee programs and all activities that affect Academy functions and operations.
- →Scheduling and assigning training, special projects, and curriculum development activities to unit personnel; and guiding employees in prioritizing tasks with competing deadlines and balancing the needs of varied stakeholders.
- →Representing the agency in meetings and negotiations regarding training, with representatives of public and private organizations, and with other government officials.
