Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Training and Development, U.S. Border Patrol Canine Academy located in El Paso, TX. Additional selections may be made beyond the total number of vacancies specified using this vacancy announcement. Further selections may also be made for additional organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.
What You'll Do
- →In this Supervisory Border Patrol Agent (CDI) position you will become a key member of a team of homeland security professionals responsible for planning and instructing assigned courses.
- →This position will allow you to use your expertise in the instruction of courses related illegal entry of noncitizens into the United States by land, water, or air; enforce criminal provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Laws.

- →This position starts at a salary of $109,383.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $142,199.00 (GS-13, Step 10).
- →Typical work assignments include: Overseeing the certification process of multi-disciplined CBP canine teams.
- →Scheduling and assigning training, special projects, and curriculum development activities.
- →Developing training courses using instructional system design techniques and preparing lessons plans and course material.
- →Supervising and conducting the instruction, counseling, and daily performance evaluation of canine handlers and instructor candidates.
- →Maintaining student and instructor records.

Requirements
